Amazing ps1 game. Sewers always took forever to get through. Carnage and doc oc finale was great. Unlocking all the different costumes was fun.

My favorite part of the game is that you can unlock costumes and they even have unique abilities, also, character visor and classic comic books that you can collect, all narrated in the voice of Stan Lee.

I ignore if any other spiderman game has something similar(asides form Enter Electro), since I only played the ones that came on the Xbox/Ps2 era.
And Ultimate Spiderman was great too, but the costumes did't do anything special. :(

This game was the first time I ever saw Spiderman, so I thought he was a videogame character invented right then for the PS1. I had never had any exposure to comic book characters, or any cartoons except for TMNT and Rescue Rangers on VHS, so I didn't recognize any of the guest characters like Captain America or whoever else cameod. When the first live action Spiderman movie came out, I thought it was a movie of the game, and didn't understand who the Green Goblin was. My dad finally had to explain to me that Spiderman is a comic book character and it blew me away, I don't know how to compare the feeling, it would be like if I told you that Mario was originally a movie character and all the games are licensed and that was actually true.

that whole "doc ock is generating fog so yeah, that's why you cant go on the streets / see the rest of the city": i liked when developers would actually try and conceal hardware limitations back then by forming the story around them.

played the sequel on ps1, and liked it, younger me was hyped about the levels on the city streets.
