Overshooting in DaS2 has killed me 100x more than Undershooting in DaS1 and 3. It was especially bullshit in Shulva.
I've always hated the inclusion of jump in the series though. It adds absolutely nothing of value to exploration.

IIRC, Bloodborne was in development at the same time as Dark Souls 2, so I guess Miyazaki didn't get the memo in time for that game. If there's a Bloodborne 2, it will likely have that feature, but all jumping puzzles will probably be neutered like in Dark Souls 3 because jumping always sucks in these games.

I think DS2 is the only game where I've had any luck with actually dodging shit with backsteps. In any other game a backstep just feels like a way of saying "I AM ABOUT TO DO A RUNNING ATTACK PREPARE YOUR L2". or maybe you just really like your weapon's running attack in PvE
