we had a 9 year old begging for games 2 months ago.
/v/ is full of children

DPS is both defense and offense combined, because their role is to deal damage.
Suck a dick, autist.
>>376334896
i'm assuming OW was your first game?
it's DPS, faggot
>>376335532
>damage per second is defense
>>376335709
I bet you think you're actually pick the "Defense" heroes on defense and the "Offense" heroes of attack.
Retard.
>>376335532
>>376335705
DPS means damage per second. A term meant for classes that primarily do damage. In Overwatch everyone (besides Mercy) primarily does damage. Symmetra is a DPS. Zarya is a DPS. Junkrat is a DPS. The name doesn't apply to shooting games.
>tfw my mother teaches DPS
Detroit Public Schools are awful
>>376335831
could you repeat that in English please
>>376335709
>in mmo terms, a DPS class is considered the offensive class
yeah, overwatch isnt an mmo but the definition still applies.
what the fuck do you think DPS stands for? "Defensive Person Stance"?
>>376335839
>primarily do damage
Tanks primary role is to mitigate damage done to your team. Just because they can deal damage doesn't mean that it's their primary role.
Same goes for the healers.
I do agree that Symmetra is a DPS though.
>>376334896
>people saying Metagame
>they really mean Endgame
Fucking casuals.
>>376335839
Tanks doprimarily draw fire
Supports do primarily support their teammates
It would be more accurate to say Offense and Defense characters are built more to focus specific targets with higher damage
than to just call them a blanket term of DPS.
>>376335709
>>376336052
I don't play the shit game, not my fault the faggots that due have bastardized the phrase.
>>376335839
>The name doesn't apply to shooting games.
it does though. certain classes have a great damage output compared to others (hence "DPS")
calling a DPS class the offensive class is perfectly acceptable
>Saying DPS in a non tick based game
>>376336403
But it's not damage per second. It's damage per projectile hit. It's the same shit with MOBAs. You can't call a character an ADC (an attack damage carry) if he's primarily Ability power based.
>go on American servers
>"their team is lit"
>"I'm lit"
>"they lit, boys"
You're not in Cypress Hill, Americans, stop using ebonics. I know you are pasty white boys
>>376336594
You're retarded.
Lit in this context means "heavily damaged/low on HP". They/I/You took heavy damage. We've been using this term for over a decade in cs now.
They don't mean lit as in niggerspeak "cool".
>>376336594
Me and my friends say "It's lit" ironically. Never heard anyone say those ones
>>376336408
for being a non tick based game it sure seems to tick you off
>>376336997
Friend of mine has got annoyingly deep into Overwatch as an E-Sport and has started using all the lingo and getting annoyed when the team composition is wrong.
Even says "delete" instead of "kill", because apparently that's a thing.
