She's fine. Kind of irrelevant but that hardly matters. One more character in the sports/Mario Kart roster isn't a problem.

Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Daisy, Rosalina seems like it would be a nice character spread for the main games. Six characters means players could pick three guys or three gals if they wanted, without two people being stuck with different colored Toads.

But that requires Nintendo to actually care enough to include Daisy, as well.

Yes. She isn't confined to the tropes that the main cast settled into - Mario isn't snarky, Bowser is always a goofball, Peach is a blowup doll, Luigi is a meta piece of shit, etc.

Rosalina is a refreshing breath of fresh air as a dynamic character - fun-loving yet has her introvert moments, respectful and nurturing of life and others yet will destroy countless numbers of Bowser's minions for being crooks, what have you.

Sad, though, that she's now the only one.
