I played the shit out of 8, but I don't have a switch. Have double items and new items made getting fucked over more frequent. I got Mario Karted quite a bit while playing 8, but it didn't ruin the game for me.

It's really only annoying when you're trying to get 3 star ranking and get fucked over in the last 8 seconds because the guy behind you got a triple red shell, a blue shell hits you, and then lightning bolt happens while you're taking the shortcut which costs you six coins because you're in the air.
