The problem is that Yes Man's ending has pretty overt implications about you being a hands off ruler, especially if you're good karma. It's Gannon's ideal of a benevolent small government with no majestic goals. People like to say they'd do things like House without House, but it's never presented that way in game. Yes Man's ending is the culmination of a series of choices of how to improve the welfare of Freeside/Westside and ensure local sovereignty throughout the Mojave, not really "whatever you wanna do."

This is a common issue in these games when they throw you in charge of factions for no reason and I never like it. Every choice is a clear endorsement of some ideology, so I'd rather follow someone who more closely matches mine like House.

The mighty Salt Upon Wounds ends up grovelling in the mud after being on the receiving end of what he did to New Canaan. He leaves that Valley a broken man.
