This game gets a lot of flack but it can be very free form. My first playthrough I did an absolutely no kill pure stealth run and it was repetitive and got tiresome.

Now I'm on my 2nd playthrough and I still sneak but rather jumping to a checkpoint if I get seen I just roll with it and don't be afraid to get some blood on your hands. It has a very loose narrative compared to the other titles and it more or less breaks down to you taking jobs to try and track down Cipher's activities.

It was the second game, Big Boss was still supposed to just be a "final boss" back then. It wasn't until later that he became more fleshed out as a character, and eventually became the most interesting character in the series. People widely regard Snake Eater as the best in the series for a reason you know.
