>consoles dominate in Japan, almost nobody plays on PC
>PC dominates in South Korea, almost nobody plays on consoles
Why? They're practically the same countries otherwise.
I think South Koreans don't have enough money to buy games plus companies don't localise titles there
they are slaves of MMOs beaus of bureaucrats
>Why? They're practically the same countries otherwise.
They hate each other's guts. A lot.
In fact until the early 2000s it was prohibited to import Japanese products in SK.
And the two biggest players at the time were Nintendo and Sony, so SK players were with nothing but Xboxes and PCs.

a PC can be used for work or business. a game console can only be used for gaming. it makes sense that the (slightly) less developed country would lean on the device that serves multiple purposes. same as america - most families are better off, so they can afford both a computer AND a gaming console.

who is this cum drum?

Japan is technically advanced while sk is a shithole.

South korea was third-world before Samsung colonized it.
The reputation of the PC as a game platform in Japan was tainted by a 90's hentai explosion that stigmatized PC audiences as creepy weirdos even by Japanese standards, and the label has yet to subside. The fact it's a major draw in South Korea just makes it the filthy Nidaland platform in Japan's eyes

So once Samsung decides to make a Galaxy S Gamebox they'll abandon PC?
PC cafes are huge in SK so they can be dped by Riot and Blizzard

Japs pc scene is pretty funky though.

Porn is illegal in South Korea though, so i doubt that's the reason people like PC gaming. What, are you going to masturbate in an internet cafe
Piratefags and the fact consoles are expensive.
>they're practically the same country

> yfw Samsung enters the console market, kicks Sony out of rotation, XBox becomes the new "real gamer console" with movie games and weebshit because Japan doesn't want to make jack shit for Samsung and the cycle begins anew

>it makes sense that the (slightly) less developed country would lean on the device that serves multiple purposes
That makes no sense.

Do koreans spend half their lives on trains? Because its handhelds that dominate Japan, not home consoles.

Japan would switch to PC before Xbox.
