That's disappointing to hear. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was one of my favorite games as a kid but I lost interest in FPS for a long time afterwards

As someone who actually played the original KZ, I can thoroughly recommend shadow fall.

I will warn you, the MP is completely dead if you were interested in that, which they deserved after patching in loot boxes which also give in game buffs which horribly unbalance the game.

Anyway MP rant out the way, the game panders a lot to fans of the original by bringing back or making variants of weapons from the first like the sniper with the barrel mag, allowing attachments on weapons again so you can have the ISA assault rifle with grenade launcher or the Helghast rifle with the shotgun attachment. The AI are very good, and the game doesn't have a lot of filler, with most of the game feeling unique, and unlike KZ2 or 3 since you aren't on Helghan anymore, you aren't walking through the same dull grey areas again and again.

That game is such a classic and one of the best games ever made

The levels, the journey, music, the insane setting are all perfection

I really can't think of another FPS that has a better campaign

The new wolfenstain is nothing like it and god, it's so damn annoying to see them turn such a simple story into some deep and emotional "movie"

I really don't understand the praise for it, it's so forgettable that I can't think of most levels

I still remember most from return, and that was like 10 years ago

The first two levels are actually really great. Then the game has average levels that have some decent shootouts (but not enough to make up).

The very last level is decent and has an amazing shootout at the end.

Doom is excellent. Amazing game. Excellent flow and pacing. Top notch shooting. Titanfall 2 I thought was a little over hyped. Much like Killzone Shadows Fall-- decent game book-ended by strong opening/ending.

Honestly... Destiny is fun. A lot of people on V will get mad. But the shooting is on point. You will probably be able to get all the expansions + game for 60-80 and its more than worth it. By the time taken king came along, Destiny had legitimely great single player content. Most of the side-quests/fetch quests reward you with some reasonably intense shoot outs. Strikes are fun. Taken King and on they become reasonably involved. Prison of Elders is fun. Its a great game.
