I have atrophied hands. Pretty much play SDFE. Pinky is useless. I can't outstretch my hands so keys are tied around sdfe, can't even bend my fingers to hit the keys under SDFE. Can't use a fighting stick anymore, it'll actually pull my forearm and it fucking hurts. I have diagnosed aspergers which at this point in my life manifests primarily as an obsession with the learning process. I love acquiring new skills and seeing how my knowledge translates from one area to another, breaking down complex problems to simple ones to solve them with greater ease.

As a result I quickly become better than average at everything I try, and everyone I know finds it insufferable.

I grow bored easily however, and by extension don't usually stick with anything long enough to master it. In the end every game is a puzzle game to me, just a matter of identifying the pieces and fitting them together just right.

Funnily enough I usually hate actual puzzle games, I find it infuriating when it seems like a piece of the puzzle is just missing.

I have no idea if there's any actual mental illness causing it, but I'm extremely obsessive about everything I watch/play/listen to that I consider good. Generally I can't play a game unless I'm in just the right mood for that specific game and there's nothing distracting me outside of the game. If it's an even remotely dark/horror-esque game, I can't play it until night time and there are absolutely no signs of other people being around, like neighbors talking or whatever. With any other game, I generally get used to playing it during a certain time of day and it starts to feel wrong to play it at any other time. If I ever go against any of these things and try to play a game I like in different circumstances it feels like I'm completely ruining the game for myself and I can't keep playing.

Playing videogames is one of the few things that help me relax and stop thinking about horrible ways my life could go wrong every day. When my anxiety gets really bad I just start playing something so I don't have to think about stuff.
