Also, bioware was never good at storytelling or characterization. Never. All their games since Baldur's Gate had a shitty story and generic fantasy trope characters. Then when EA bought the farm the gameplay and quality of their games followed suit into the shitter.

I can agree that the setting is pretty vanilla, but what hasn't been done in the fantasy genre? As for storytelling, look at the redcliffe demon, temple of sacred ashes, orzammar, the fade those were all amazing content. And most of the characters are great
