Meme thread, but I learned how to snowboard last year without an instructor or anything, my friend just took me out and I slapped the board on and gave it a shot. I ate shit for 40 minutes straight and wanted to stop, feeling sorry for myself or self-pity or whatever, but then I remembered how I feel about new Dark Souls players who ragequit even though if they just payed attention and relaxed a little, they'd pick it up quick, and decided it must be the same.

So I parked my ass on the far side of a slope and just watched other people for thirty minutes, and then did everything I could to copy them, and improved really quickly. We went back ten times that season and I went on to do the most challenging course at that place, which was basically a sheer cliff, and stuck with it until I was able to carve the thing up without falling multiple times in a row.

It made me realize the concept of "git gud" is not just souls memes, but a really good outlook for lots of things in life.
