Building Mode 3 was always my favorite. This one strikes a good balance between peaceful and playful. When I listen to it I think of being young and putting my first house together, hopeful about the good times that I'm going to have with the game. Am I going to marry a qt? I can't say I agree. For me there was always this allure to the mystery bullshit. Knowing that in this world there was something lying beneath the surface made it much more compelling to me.

I never actively sought any of it out but it always made my heart race when I discovered a ghost or fished an incredibly rare fish or found a practically magical item somewhere. And the life rewards in the second game were also fun because they were such bullshit.

You will never be happy again.

Don't fall for it, don't do it. I've done it several times over the years. That moment where you have fond memories of the sims and start constructing this perfect image in your head of how much fun it was and all the wacky situations you got your sims in.
And then you reinstall it...
It's some soul sucking, tedious, micromanagey bullshit that you are amused by for 2 hours and then never touch again. The first Sims was an innovative game, it just wasn't a very good one.
