They're great at making open worlds that feel alive, and they're great at developing TECHNOLOGY to immerse the players in those worlds.

Their single player campaigns are repetitive and the stories that support them are derivative pulp. I wouldn't even be mad if the next GTA was wholly online because dicking about in the open world with your mates and making your own story - that's where the fun stuff is.

Which is why the writing in those games is awful. The Housers writing used to fit their style of games, but as their budgets grew and the technology became cutting edge their games have outgrown them.
