HL2 was always a mess and not worth the hype. Breakdown came out the year before and did everything HL2 did besides the dumb "I made a see-saw lol" puzzles while manging to have gameplay and cutscenes that are actually interesting

Half life 3 won't release until Steam/valve is in a bad spot, since the likely hood of this happening is very low, chances are it will never be released.

The hype alone of how long the game has been in the works would be enough advertising to reap in a large amount of money. Though I bet it's actually sitting on a desk, just waiting for the day for Steam to fail, or the Micro transactions of DOTA 2/CS:GO to slow down.

Holy shit this, so many details and major things went to shit.
HL2 had boxes giving you shit based on your situation instead of any kind of difficulty/map management (I remember abusing this by opening all the boxes at once after I ran out of armor, each would hold 4 batteries for your suit, you can basically always be at 100 power if you play smart, otherwise they are full of peestol ammo 99% of the time), you automatically reload all your other guns if you manage to empty a magazine for one, no enemy variety, LESS GUNS THAN THE PREVIOUS GAME, where's my gluon gun, where's my mines and alien bee guns? Boring vehicle sections with boring maps, one house with 2 zombies every 200 meters? The rest filled with rocks and antlions? Gets boring after you drive over 10 of them.
And the cutscenes. They had it right in HL1, you can stand still and listen to what Barney here has to say OR you can just go about your business. Only ones you had to wait through were the very beginning, the guys right before Xen portal and after you kill the final boss, which is the ending. 3 "cutscenes".
I'm not sure if that's the word, but why and how the fuck do you regress in the second game? Graphics are better, but everything else gets worse.
