MvC1. I'd pick Mega Man and War Machine and spam buster shots/missiles because I was too young to know better. One time I beat some teenager who challenged me and he got super fucking salty, it was great.

Hyrdo Thunder, Turtles in Time, and Crazy Taxi were my shit back in the day.

I was terrible at all of them but whenever I see that shit now I get super hyped to take advantage of all the cheese I've learned over the years.
>>

Probably Metal Slug

I'd rudely sit next to people playing alone, become the second player. Then after dying in a few seconds and embarrassing myself I leave

Smash bros melee was my fav fighting game in the arcade.

>>
>>376089474
I played the shit out of House of the Dead, managed to 1cc it at one point.
My favorite would either be King of Fighters '97 or L.A Machineguns though.

Never been to an arcade, seen one machine one time but it looked lame as fuck with old 90's shit graphics.

Literally no point in playing it.

Haven't been in Japan for 2.5 years now but Melty Blood was always full in every machine.

It was great to be honest, I suck at fighting games but it was still fun. Looked really good in arcade screen too
>>
>>376094005
>>376094382
Everyone plays Gundam nowadays, it's the biggest fighting game in Japan, it's huge.

Virtual On is releasing a new game for the PS4 though so maybe it will get ported to arcade later if it doesn't flop. It's being released on PS4 because of the story mode that adapts last year's novel crossover.

My brother and I were deep into KoF too. Best one is still 98 dream match. It doesn't hold a candle to Garou or SF3RD strike though.
>>
>>376094005
A local nickel arcade near me has this game and it's sweet as fuck. They also have free arcade games like metal slug and a bust a move. At one point there was marvel vs. capcom and two different tekken machines but I think they sold them off.

Time Crisis
Fast & Furious Super Bikes
House Of the Dead

Virtua Fighter 2.
>>
>>376089474
There was a game in the 90's, right after street fighter 2 got real popular, Capcom made a pit fighting type game, you could move in an open space, ie up and down as well as left and right, and one of the characters was like a prototype of DeeJay from SSF2turbo, including the uppercut punch. Cant remember the name of it.

So did everyone else under the age of 10. Good times.

>>376091346
Daytona USA is GOAT

>>376093754
Played Simpsons today. It's ok, but kinda simplistic for how hard it is.

>>376098513
Blitz will never not be fun. VF is best fighting game franchise, and this is from a Tekken fanboy born and raised.

I love Sega Bass FIshing. You're not alone.

>>376099629
You reminded me I need to reinstall TGM3TI on my PC again.
>>
Joust, Donkey Kong Jr, The Simpsons Arcade game, and Primal Rage.

Granted, back years ago we had a massive arcade in our mall that was literally the size of a Sears and had pretty much every major title from the 80s all the way up to around 94 or so. We played a little bit of everything in there.
>>
>>376089731

>MvC1. I'd pick Mega Man and War Machine and spam buster shots/missiles because I was too young to know better.

Not actually that different from how high level MvC1 is played. Strider+War Machine/Gold War Machine with Legion+War Destroyer super spam during duo hyper tag combo mode(QCB HP+HK.)
>>
>>376100150

Sure it wasn't an arcade wrestling game of sorts? Sounds like a Muscle Bomber/Saturday Night Slammasters game if you're talking Capcom.
>>
Pretty much everything with a lightgun at the time, rhythm games today.

I've got most of the lightgun games thanks to ports and emulation, but a few are still unplayable without a cabinet.

Rhythm games are a much easier deal, you can play shit like pop'n, IIDX, and gitadora at home super easily. Hell, if you ever bought guitar hero or rockband, you've already got a controller for guitar freaks, it's just a case of getting the data and jamming away.
>>
>>376089474

I used to go to an LA arcade called Japan Arcade. It had everything, but I spent most of my time in 3rd Strike vs machines. At my best, I won 15-16 straight matches in a row. Never saw the guys I beat and for all I know it was probably the same person I beat those 15 straight times. Still..it felt great.
>>
Definitely Simpson's arcade game
>>
>>376089474
Virtual ON. Fucking amazing game.
>>
>>376101410
Yeah, it was weird pit fighting, could move up and down as if it was a ring, but it wasnt actually a ring, just an open square surface. It was an odd wrestling/street fighter/final fight mashup.
>>
A shitty Diablo clone. It was really fun, please help me out.
>>
>>376102796
gauntlet
>>
>>376102658
Is it that game where the black guy had funny victory lines like "KILL YOU!" and the hit stops where emphasized by big "BADOONG" bubbles? I think I know what you're talking about, but I can't remember the name either. You also had bonus rounds where you fight a real tiger
>>
>tfw arcades are dead in the west
>>
>>376104408
Thats exactly it. I remember the tiger. I remember the machine gun punch the most, and how happy I was a few years later when Dee Jay got it. I love that move.

Robotron and Smash TV are both amazing
Robotron wins by a slight margin though. The whole game is an assault on the senses.

>mfw the world's largest arcade is a 2 hour drive up in the White mountains

I also have a deep love for the Raiden 2 machine. There used to be one at my local Papa Ginos right up until maybe 2000-2002. I'd kill to one day own a candy cab.
>>
>>376093053

I hope you know how to shift boost/shift drift anon, you'll never be a pro Taxi driver without those skills.
>There's a crazy taxi within driving range
You guys are just making want to drive up to Funspot again
>>
>>376089474
Not the best besat em up but The Punisher was a lot of fun.
