>oh boy, now that the Wii U has been discontinued maybe I can get one dirt cheap
>they're more expensive than the PS4 and Xbox One
What the fuck man
I picked up a Wii for like 50 bucks when that generation ended
>>376068123
No one bought them. The Wii was cheap near the end because literally everyone and their mom had one.
There's like 100 million Wii's in the wild and 13 million Wii U's.
>>376068271
>>376068208
>nobody wants them
>this makes them more valuable
>>376068427
Basic economics, anon. Low supply and low demand will not lower prices, while high supply and low demand will.
>>376068427
Pretty much, they're a rarity now. Enjoy getting scalped.
>>376068427
This is why Earthbound is like a thousand bucks now, it was a massive commercial failure that became a meme
Nintendo realized that removing backwards compatibility increased the previous products value
What the fuck you people told me the Wii-U wasn't a good investment but I could actually make money off it in the future it turns out.

>taking financial advice from manchildren and literal children
>>376068123
>now that the Wii U has been discontinued maybe I can get one dirt cheap
That's not how it works idiot. Discontinued = collectors item = more valuable then it was when available. Do you think because the NES classic has been discontinued, you will be able to find cheap ones? Hell no.
So that means I can sell my Wii U?
How much is it going for?
>>376068123
There aren't many of them and they're not being made anymore, what's strange about that?
>tfw got the smash/splat bundle back in 2015 for $250 paid with gift cards
Feels good man
Any WiiU game that doesn't get a quick Switch port is going to be a collectors item too. Hope you all stocked up while you could.
>>376070151
These are discontinued consoles too
>>376070306
Once you have the system itself it's no big deal because you can hack it and get all the gaems
>>376070334
the xbox 360 sold like 80 million units you dumb fuck
Time to start donating, faget
>surprised a discontinued product is getting more expensive
I bought a used WiiU for 100$ when mario maker came out.
It was a regret purchase when i bought it, but breath of the wild totally turned it around.
You can buy one right now for $200 from Nintendo. Then hack it and play all the worthwhile games for it. Which means like 4.
>>376070334
360's are still being made sir.
>>376070582
Nope. The final Xbox 360 rolled off the assembly line on April 20th, 2016.
>>376070528
>4
maybe if you're only counting games that redefined their genres
>>376070678
>April 20th
Is there a way to hack the WiiU controller for PC use? I figure it might have interesting uses if WiiU development is dead.
>>376068123
>>376070334
>Wii and Xbox 360
>millions upon millions being put out
>surprised that people sold them and they're easy to find now
>Wii U
>hardly anyone bought it
>"I'm sure there will be tons of them available when they stop manufacturing them."
Maybe you should've taken more economics classes rather than liberal writing.
>>376070812
there's an app in the homebrew store for it
>>376070827
>looking up old failed consoles to prove you wrong
>3do's and Jaguars are actually expensive af now
>single Neo-Geo games are $150 to $700
sheeeeit
>>376070334
>When you realize sega saturn's are 60 bucks and only 11 million were sold ever
>>376070678
I wonder if they did anything special to the last one (donated it to a museum, engraved it)
>>376072998
Is the Sega Saturn worth getting?
I kind of want to make a library but I hear it's pricey.
