I doubt they really thought like I'm going to post but if you throw objects and people actually see them, they're not going to look at where you threw it. They're going to look to where it came from. it really is. left click shoots, right click is powers. theres EVE and EVE hypos. upgrade your weapons and powers. turrets all over the place that you can hack. annoying (well maybe more just boring) hacking mini game.

and its a future with space travel, but everything has this retro 60s feel. like bioshock or fallout being more advanced but everything looks like the 50s.

I just don't understand why it inherently brings destruction. Nihilism and hedonism are big aspects of the human condition, not some societal pressure that's external. Is it actually good though? I don't give a shit about the gimmicky glue gun or whatever, are the powers fun to use, the mimics varied enough, the game long enough, the map quality enough and is it replayable like Dishonored? Fucking love going through both games again and again just killing targets in amusing ways. What's the appeal of this game? Why should I spend money on it?

I've come to terms with the fact that we won't get Prey 2 or any other bounty hunter themed game anytime soon and that this game being called Prey was probably something forced onto Arkane by Zenibeth.

Yeah, the way you needed to be killed by the orc wasn't the most fun way to get where you wanted an orc to be but keep in mind that it probably wasn't a conscious design choice to have the player die over and over again to then have their 'nemesis' be dominated.
The mechanic of 'die and a random orc captain becomes your nemesis' was more meant to be so t hat when there's an orc you can't handle it automatically becomes your nemesis by rewarding the orc as it were.
I agree that that element of planning out to 'groom' your orc could have been fleshed out more (which I think they did implement in shadow of war).
My point ultimately is; you can't say a game is boring if you willingly aren't seeking to experience all the game has to offer.
