i always thought Metal Gear Solid had really nice gun mechanics with the exception of the damage they deal. the guns in the game are functionally accurate to their real counter parts. the recoil, sound, accuracy, rate of fire, etc.. are all very detailed. the problem is that none of the difficulty settings ever made for realistic damage.
The Last of Us had silly gun features but the offline enemy damage was pretty neat. you can heal any wound with just wrapping your arm with a bandage which is fine but it still lacks the realistic qualities that future games should aim for.
although it has a shitty game engine that im afraid may prevent the game from ever being released as a AAA title on consoles and shit, DayZ has a really fucking detailed idea about gun mechanics and medical treatment. however, the execution is terrible and sad to see that it might not make it. Miscreated has a better chance and making it but it doesn't seem to have as much heart in the size and scope of the game.

it goes beyond that. ar 15s have a slide release so you probably wouldn't ever use the animation in-game unless it's unloaded when you first pick it up.
also air guns should be considered. a high-grade air gun is a real weapon that's just as effective as a .22 but still quieter.

Jesus Christ. Its like you've never shot a gun before. Shoulder holder? Who the fuck calls a stock a shoulder holder? And wincing when firing and getting burned from spent casings? You must be the biggest fucking retard if you get burned from casings and forget to wear earpro. Pulling a slide back is literally the easiest thing to do. Guns are a legitimate crime deterrent. It's not the only factor in determining crime, but guns do act as a general deterrent. No one robs a house they think they'll get shot in, for instance.

Everything except genuine antique black powder guns and low power air rifles requires licenses here, but silencers are no problem since relatively recently.
>But because every movie assassin and bad guy ever used a silencer the government has to restrict them.
Stupid as it may be, it doesn't even touch regarding restriction of "military style" or "assault" weapons being restricted while functionally identical guns that look differently are not.
ArmA 3 has some really nice ballistics and with the RHS mods you can get some nice looking guns too. Then JSRS Apex and Enhanced Soundscape for probably the most realistic sounding guns in any game.

To be honest It's a decent system(granted probably not for America). Stops everyone and their mom from having a gun so less accidental shootings and every gangbanger has to at least work a bit for a decent weapon, but everyone who is interested in having a gun, mainly for range shooting and hunting can easily get one. You know, sort of like getting a drivers license.
Hell Sweden has pretty restricted gun laws but we rank third in gun ownership among the developed countries behind the US and Finland.
>>376058836
>mainly for range shooting and hunting
what about concealed carry for self-defense
It would need to start with being magazine based instead of individual bullets. Otherwise it doesn't make sense with the slide locks and cocking it and shit. Some games do this, but the majority don't. I remember Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam did it, I can't remember if BF2 or BC1 was the first to stop it.

Punisher war zone and John Wick 2 have some very solid gun handling and when they do their weapon check they do pull the bolt back on their ARs. When reloading they use the bolt release though.

Maybe it's just the pacifist in me but I'd actually prefer to have my wallet stolen than end the life of another human, criminal or not, over something so inconsequential. Most violent gun crime is just the hoodrats shooting up each other anyways so unless you are a nigger/muslim it's not like you get much use out of a gun for defense.

>Fucking around in the Virtual Range
>I'm loading these nerds full of lead but they're getting hurt, what the fuck shitty useless 5.56
>Follow the trajectory lines, discover that aiming for center mass will typically hit a bad guy's gun and harmlessly plink away, as long as they're standing neutrally with their weapon across their chest
The army is some crazy shit

>probably in the top 10 of westerns.
Haha, fuck no.
I think the gunplay is amazing in all Resident Evil games that aren't: Code Veronica, Revelations 1 and 7.
What say you about that, gun autists?
>>376063632
Something about left handed shooting bothers me.
>>376040760
There are Canadians who like guns.
>>376063957
It's like Otacon said: "People just aren't complete without a character flaw". So, to balance her perfection they made her left handed, other characters shoot right handed.
>>376064865
Sheva can't be the best girl becauseJillexists.
>>376062648
>have to register a drone that weighs more than two sticks of butter
>don't have to register weapons with the sole purpose of killing
neat
.45 is better but 9mm is better for shooting though car doors and it has great velocity. Would still take .45 but people that meme on 9mm haven't actually hunted and shot something that isn't a fucking paper cutout
>>376065831
>.45 is better
meme
>>376065740
Because our Founding Fathers didn't set any protections for drones.
>>376065831

>Not using the far superior 10mm

Killing Floor 2.
I think the animations were motion capped iirc.
>>376040760
we have more guns in canada than americans
>>376065508
How can Jill be best girl when Rebecca exists?
>>376038795
Receiver.
>>376067781
Is that why it's called Canada? Because it has lots of Canadians?
>>376067781
Well yeah I'd assume there wouldn't be very many Americans in Canada.
>>376067781
This is a meaningless statement.
I'm a self hating leaf, by the way.
>>376051554
Not sure if you're being retarded or not but bullets have to come down anon.

Says the anime poster.
> how hard it is to pull the slide back
>>376043867
Came here to say this. It was actually a fun little game, always wanted those mechanics to make it into a survival horror game.
The only game I can think of that actually uses the guns as a minigame is Receiver
Too bad it's a little indie game with little content to it. If a multiplayer game was made around the fidgety controls and getting used to the weapons it would be VERY interesting thing though.
Just got my new Mossberg today. Just waiting for some basketball-american to try to break in here.
>>376071471
Whatcha get? 500, the Mav, etc.?
>>376071630
930 Tactical. I already have a 590 but I wanted something semi-auto.
>>376071747
Break it in yet? I've never touched the 930, I really should get one.
>>376071857
Nah gonna hit the skeet range tomorrow with it. It feels great though, shorter and bit more compact which will be nice if it needs to be used indoors.
>>376066480
mo capped and like recorded at 244FPS
I shot my friend's AR pistol the other day. I want one but don't want to get arrested if someone sees me shoulder it.
>>376072845
There is literally no rhyme or reason to those laws.
>>376072936
He had a forearm brace, which is blatantly just used as a small stock and shouldered. It's fucking stupid considering you can get bullpups that are smaller in overall length but the barrel meets the correct arbitrary length.
>City folk
Before bf1 cameout I had thr oppertunity to fire a 1918 T gewehr at a collectors showing. That was fun
>>376073356
Yeah those are absolutely just about trying to skirt the rules, which are completely stupid.
>>376067781
Thissa joke
>>376072845
ATF recently sent out a letter again saying that misusing an item does not change what it is. So shouldering a brace does not make it a SBR. You can now shoulder braces again.
>>376038795
>shoulder holder
>>376073756
Well that's good to know.
