Is there an inbetween for framerate like there is for res? Why do I have to choose between getting a high res 4k monitor at 60kz, or a high res 144hz monitor at 1080p?

Is there a good inbetween like with 1440p, and I can get a 1440p monitor that does framerates higher than 60fps but not quite at 144fps as well.
