Endless Space is great, the UI is sex, the music is really comfy and it's designed around shorter term games.

Is there a reason why when I siege planets in Endless Space it seems like nothing ever happens? I like the game a lot but outside of a diplomatic attempt at winning I never can seem to get conquest through murder to work correctly.

I've read that the AI in Endless Space is a cheating bastard. Can anyone weigh in on that?

Stellaris is fucking incredible. It deviates from civilization's style pretty drastically, and for the better. It won't always play fair and there's random events, which could polarize you, but I absolutely love it.

What do you mean? When you siege planets, they become yours after a certain amount of turns, which is shown in the star map.

Your fleets' siege power is most likely too low. Probably the best method for taking planets without ground invasions, that destroy at least some and in cases most of the planetary improvements, is to have one or more cheap fleets with only propulsion and some minimal defense modules and then fill the rest of the space on the ships with siege modules. Have these siege fleets trail behind your actual combat ones and claim systems after you cleared out any resistance stationed there.
