1 is surprisingly relaxing to play. Something about the graphics, atmosphere and music all blend together perfectly to form a nostalgic feel even though it would be your first time playing the game.

It definitely wasn't a shitty game, but it had many flaws and the clicks where the least of it. The controls and combat where clunky as fuck. The map design was awful, forcing you to walk around small fences and walls because Geralt was unable to walk over them. The books are what the games are based upon. The games are not an "adaptation". They are a continuation of the books. They resume the style, characterization and setting of the books. In gaming, the witcher serie is one of best examples of "fanfiction" that stays very true to its source material.
Everyone who claims to have liked the games, but not the books, didn't actually read them. Or started to read them and dropped after a while, due to not being used to reading anything that isn't a comic or a manga.
This is the objective truth.
