It's pretty new tech that will improve exponentially. I can understand someone buying a new console, but that isn't really new tech in the same sense as VR. Just wait, the shit might fizzle out for games.

I like the Vive headset better, but the Rift's touch controllers better than the Vive controllers.

I'm just going to wait for a gen 2.

The blue straps mean the unit may be a vive pro. Not sure what the difference is, just older hardware. Speaking of hardware, the reason VR is so quiet right now is because the slow release of games. good games come out maybe 1-2 times a month, but 2017 is set to have quite a few AAA titles (Fallout 4 VR, Doom VR, 3 full vr titles from valve).

Basically, buy it and wait for the games, or play rec room and get in shape.

Honestly I'd wait until second gen headsets come out that have things like inside-out tracking (no more sensors), better displays and possibly even eye tracking for foveated rendering (huge boost in performance).

If you've got money to burn get a 1080ti instead.

Don't get it, Vive owner here, they are conning you.

Everyone i know sold their vive after the first week, the experience is great for a couple hours until you notice all the drawbacks that they can easily fix with the next version. Not only did we pay out the ass for such an abysmal experience the next version is probably be cheaper.

Don't bother op. After a month of lightly using mine, the novelty wears off. It's been packed up just sitting in my closet. Dunno if they made way better games for the thing but I'm not too inclined to check.

It was fun getting my mother to try it out. She's paranoid about anything tech related so it was a nice experience.

So yea, after you fuck around with the family for a bit it gets meh. If you have kids or whatever, they'll probably mess around with it a lot more.
