Your game was the spark of difficulty in the series that I hadn't felt since Dracula's Curse and Bloodlines.

This game was unfairly hard at points. Stamina ran out too fast and Shanoa gets thrown around like a rag doll when she's hit. I'm also not a fan of how this game is more stage based than the other Metroidvania ones. It was good, but didn't really float my boat like Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin did for me.

It is kind of dumb that they seem to depend on you getting certain drops to make bosses easier (doable at all?).

Whenever I replay the GBA and NDS games, I now use a luck cheat to reduce the amount of farming I have to do. It's especially helpful in DoS, because that whole game is built on farming.

I'd like to replay CotM with the rom hack that makes it so you automatically dash without having to double tap.

Obligatory Lecarde Chronicles recommendation post, Classicvania with Metroidvania elements (ala Odallus).
Completely hand crafted with no recycled sprites, play first one before second one.

She's very nicely designed and her game was really fun. Hated some of the levels though, especially the ones that were literally just straight lines with annoying enemy clumps.

What's the best platform to play Symphony of the Night on? I wish I could get an original PS1 copy but I'm starting to assume that's basically impossible.
