I was keeping an eye on this game but yeah, fucking dropped. I'm a huge spaghetti Western fan and it boggles my mind how they were allowed to fuck up such a novel design like that. Nothing about the newer design looks good, no bandoilers, no belt, simplistic boots, no tassled sleeves. Don't even know what's going on with his hat but the gun is the worst offense. You take the one thing that still resembles the Western motif and you slap a huge bayonet on it for no reason, making him more of a melee character? Fuck this game and its designers.

I don't get the color palatte. All the finalized designs have that washed-out, flat shaded look to them which I assume has some purpose like the neutral poses, but why salmon?
The collar looks out of place as well.

Vasco's original design was one of the most badass looking characters of the game and one I was looking forward to and they had to completely ruin it

The only reason Mesoamerica wasn't completely on par with europe was because the region lacked trading partners to exchange technology, as well as had comparatively less warefare which resulted in less metullurgy devolpment, as well as completely lacking any sort of beast of burden. No horses, no cattle, no oxen, nothing. They got fucked over by geography, basically.
