Intel i5 processor
750ti gpu
Any compatible mobo, a GOOD PSU (500w should be good, don't skimp on this)
8GB ram
1TB Hard drive
I got my 1080p monitor for like 140 dollars or something. Go on to pcpartpicker and it'll automatically show you what's compatible and what's not, but an i5, a 750ti is the first thing you should enter and start finding compatible parts for, should fit your budget nicely, might go a bit over if you have to buy windows

This, but replace 750ti with 1050ti 4GB.
almost twice faster yet as cheap card.

it's a great website for a beginner, you can't really go wrong with the builds they suggest. I disagree with a few components, but it's mostly personal preference.
>>
That depends on your goal, if you have accessories/monitors or whatever but it was up to me, I would go for good cpu/ram/others and just upgrade the gpu later.

You can emulate all consoles except Xbone and PS4 on a PC. Also, you can play games for free on PC. I'm not saying you should, but you're a poorfag, it's a viable option to pay all you got to build a PC then pirate games.

You might know a lot of this already, but just in case:
Depending on how old and shitty your PSUs are, you might want to spring for a new one soon. There's a chance it won't have the cables you need for your new GPU, if it's old and shitty enough. Same with the case - it can be worth it to get something with good ventilation and more space if what you're working with is old and busted enough. Since these don't seem like immediate needs, maybe you can wait.

But, without any of that in mind, I would try this:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mxcCcc

You have some room for alterations there. You can knock the RAM down to 1x8GB and get more space on the SSD, for example, or cheap out on the RAM and the mobo (say, a mATX B250 instead, if you can tolerate it) and shoot for a 1070 over the 1060.

Meh I am just one guy, buy here is my two bits.

- A 4 core CPU is what you need with the best single threaded performance. The i7-7700K dominates in all games, but it is outside of your price range.
- Get an aftermarket CPU cooler.
- Seasonic or Corsair PSU, modular.
- Get the cheapest mobo that has enough ram (4) slots for you, and the correct display outputs. (I just pick the one with HDMI).
- Any case, I would save most here.
- 8 or 16 gigs of ram. This might sound stupid and /g/ memes a lot about it, but I play games and keep a few programs open, and my RAM usage almost always hits 10-12 gigabytes. It's currently sitting on 8gigs and I don't even have any games open.
- Get an SSD (120gb) and a HDD (1 or 2TB).

One idea: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QKqqJV
It's 840$, but has all I mentioned above.
>>
>>375803451
lol nevermind the motherboard... fuck.

>>
>>375803451
>>375803479
> 910$
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Gt32LD

I know, +110$.
I would leave out the SSD and buy one a month later.
Because it is also a must. I used a 500gb ssd for years now, and most games don't really benefit from it. Only a very few does, games that use all these tiny small files which is a trouble for HDD to read. But then again there was only like 1-2 titles in the past 5-6 years that did this.

It also matters if you benefit from the faster load. Like in BF1 I arrive first, but have to wait 30 seconds for others.
So what did I gain? Nothing.

>>375803707
Back to the point:
- Case. Any ATX case just works, I just picked one at random. Pick one that you like.
- The Nvidia 1060 6GB is a very good card, has all the Nvidia related shit (Gameworks, PhysX, CUDA, VRWorks), and it's an awesome card for 1080p. If you want AMD, well, go for it. I checked the two companies 3 months ago, and back then the 1060 was clearly better, so I went with that. It works, it's good. (To be honest 3-4GB of VRAM would be enough. But the 3GB version is also slower, so go with the 6GB one.)
- 16gb of ram. See my screenshot. But if you are not a lazy guy and you don't multitask, you can close everything and just play your videogame, that works, in that case, 8gb should be just fine.
- 550W PSU - there is a 650W model from Corsair for not much more. But I don't think you would require so much juice. Only top-tier GPU require plenty of juice.
>>
>>375803792
>t if you are not a lazy guy
what did he mean by this?
>>
>>375803884
That you are not such a lazy fuck - like I am - who leaves his programs open.
But to my defense I keep work open all the time and just go back whenever.

At the moment I don't even have too much shit open though.
Probably Chrome is eating up 2-3gigs alone. But FF is just way too slow.

>Get an aftermarket CPU cooler.
If your CPU gives you a free one, use that. Buying an aftermarket cooler is only needed if you don't have one or if it is cheap. Even the intel stock fans give you good temps. Stock intel fans are just 4c to 10c above the best aftermarket cpu fans. Check benchmarks. Use only aftermarket cpu fans is a meme.
>Seasonic or Corsair PSU, modular.
Modular will just add cost to a build.
>Get an SSD (120gb) and a HDD (1 or 2TB).
Faster boot-up is always better but sacrificing better parts somewhere else is not the way to do it.

>If your CPU gives you a free one, use that.
I have been in this position at least four times.
Even my Core2Quad struggled, my i7 constantly had issues due to heat.
If you live in a colder climate or don't use heating much, sure, it may be fine.
But come on, it's such a small amount of money, and you get so much less noise, and the CPU runs so much cooler...

> Modular will just add cost to a build.
Last I checked there was no big difference, if you picked a good brand (which you always should).
I also picked a semi modular.

> Faster boot-up is always better but sacrificing better parts somewhere else is not the way to do it.
No. It's not about boot. Yes it will boot faster, but that's not the point.
If you use only ONE drive (system + data on one drive), you will experience such slowdowns it's crazy.
Two mechanical drives is OK, but SSD+HDD is the sweet spot.

As I said I have used all kinds. Even recently I had to use a PC with only one drive.
FUCK NO.

I live in a place where 35c or 95f is the average outside temperature. The stock ones are fine.
>it's such a small amount of money
For a cheap build, that money can be used for better parts
>and you get so much less noise
less noise or better parts? Why not go watercool they are much better.
>Last I checked there was no big difference, if you picked a good brand (which you always should).
Last time you checked is wrong.
>If you use only ONE drive (system + data on one drive), you will experience such slowdowns it's crazy.

> Cooler
With an i3, Pentium, or an Atom, you do not require an external cooler of course.
But anything above - I would use one. The extra headroom for Turbo is godsend.
I would also buy a cooler that has this 0dB support (does not run until needed).

Then again, totally up to you folks.
The K CPUs also come with no cooler (as far as I know.)
> Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor does not include a stock CPU cooler. Adding a CPU Cooler to your part list is recommended.

> For a cheap build
800$ is not cheap by any means.

> Why not go watercool they are much better.
Because they are not that quiet, and there is no benefit?
If you want to OC the fuck out of your PC, sure. But I didn't pick a 1000$ motherboard either.
Anon is on a budget. So it makes absolutely no sense to waste money on watercoolers.

> Last time you checked is wrong.
Well, Seasonic has a NON modular 550W for 62$.
So it's less than 20$ difference yet you don't strangle yourself with the fucking cables.
I don't know son.
