I'm not for or against Blizzard in the grand scheme of things but I would take numbers ANY company releases with a grain of salt. That 30m is probably everryone who played for 10 minutes in the open beta, and the free weekend, plus the people who bought the game and stopped playing a day in. Slow release schedule. There's three new heroes and about the same number of maps in a year, but tons of cosmetics that really don't matter and events that get tiring after a single day (that also can't be selected in custom games).

It's not fucking fun to be repeatedly penalized for the performance of other players who refuse to cooperate, because any sort of teamwork is, "toxic".

And then you have the couple of die hard players who throw fucking tantrums even before the fucking matches start and rage quit the instant a match isn't going their way. It's a mess.

Most of the competent players stick to arcade to quickplay, avoiding ranked mode entirely. The top tier players this season would all be gold at best if all the best players were actually participating in that shit, but they aren't.

with multiplayer games taking the competive route and usually enforcing consequences for leaving games early, demands both teams be attempted to balance for as "equal" skill level as possible so people don't leave because they matched with a grand poobah and they already lost the game before it even started
