I get that he was supposed to be the edgy "real" version of a gta character, and ended up a lot more of a cartoon character than Michael or Franklin. They were too afraid to make him legitimately edgy even though that was the point of him. He can kill carloads of people for giggles and kill his underlings family for his own ends, but being racist is just too much for him, like in the border patrol side quests. Multiple protagonists probably would have worked in this if it was just Michael and Franklin/Lamar with a corresponding increase in screen time, but Trevor made it all fall flat for me.

Trevor as a batshit crazy psychopath would've been great if they didn't try to make him "deep" with retarded monologues of hamfisted philosophy.

He was like a character in a fucking Chuck Palahnuik book. If you're still a 17 year old it's great, then you grow up and realize how terribly written it is.
