When I'm too sick to go to work, I'm too sick to fall asleep. Last time I had to call out sick, I was only able to sleep for 3 - 4 hours at a time, inbetween doses of medicine.

Class involves more than just sitting at a desk. You also run the risk of infecting other students. You're also not allowed to have drugs at school. The most the nurse can give you is some ibuprofene. If your meds run out, you're going to be miserable for the rest of the day.

Not to mention the walk between classes, having to carry a heavy bookbag, and basically having to skip lunch because nothing they can serve will be easy on your throat. All while sick.
