Is there a point to keep leveling Onmyo above 30 if my build is 1kat+magic? Can I squeeze some damage out of projectiles? Does it affect buff (i.e. Carnage) strength?

Yes, more Onmyo power increases the power of buffs and debuffs, and maybe their effect length I think. The improvements are small and barely noticeable though.
