If you're building a rig for the first time just know that the first significant difference in GPUs (in my opinion) is between the gtx960 and 970 as far as cost and performance are concerned.

I don't regret getting my 960 at all but there will be the occasional recently released title that will stress it somewhat.

i'd say get the r5 1600 and pair it with a 1070. overclock them both, stick in a 1tb hdd and an ssd and you're pretty much good to go for the foreseeable future for under 1k. you can get windows keys for £20 in a lot of places.
