I assume that you mean the 1st rayman, since Great Escape and Rush were both pretty different.
That said, the new ones feel closer to Sanic games than the original Rayman, with all the fast paced running and overall flow. I didn't like it first, but now I do, but Legends is still far superior to Origins, although the fairies in Orgins make me splooge in my pants.

I still would like to have a classic platformer like the 1st game, but it's never gonna happen after the Rabbids crash and rise from the new games, although the art style is similar.
