Major spoilers: Mario Kart as a series is RNG rubberbanding bullshit. It's meant to be a clusterfuck with items meaning literally anyone has a chance of coming in first depending on how people get fucked over by each other. If you don't take it seriously it's fun, but if you try to treat it as a competitive, skill-based game, it's awful
