It's not that bad. Judging it as I would any adequately-published game:

It's unpolished and the environment is pretty shitty. IMO the biggest problem though is with the gameplay (mind I've only played solo). It's heavily supportive of camping. There's literally no way to secure your surroundings so you're either sprinting while praying to god you reach cover, or you sit in a house with your gun pointed at the entry. The map forces the players to a random point in the map while the match goes on, so moving is necessary, but if you're smart you do it as little as possible. But the game is only fun when you're moving. Oh also audio is an asshole, sources can pan entirely left or right which helps for clarity I suppose but it can be irritating/disorienting on headphones (for example, a plane flying to overhead on your left side. You'd usually hear that sound coming in through your right ear as well as the sound bounces off surfaces on that side of you, but it is not so in this game).

The good part of it is that it's intense and engaging. Like I said moving is dumb and usually deadly, but trying to make with what you can to increase your chance of survival is pretty fun. It gets my heart beating harder than any horror game ever has for sure. It's not for people who just want to kill IMO. There are a lot of people on the servers doing that right now but I can't imagine they'd stick with the game very long. You survive much longer if you avoid combat, and every time you die that's like 5 minutes you have to spend waiting for the next match to load.

Aside from generating more game, the way to suppress the RNG effect without changing the value of weapons I would start everyone with a peashooter to stop people from clumping up in one area at the start hoping to find a shotty or uzi to blast a bunch of unarmed players. The damage is minor so there is still an option for the risk of landing close to others to find weapons but the massive clump at the start would stop and ridiculous fist fights would stop.

A very common occurrence towards the late game is being pinned between the blue and white zones with zero cover to move forward. I would redesign the ground to have more natural features and add shallow drainage ditches near the farms and housing communities. These would mitigate the effect of superior snipers because they would need position in addition to height and it would allow a tenacious player that had bad loot RNG to stay in play later in the game.

That's been mainly my experience in solo as a new player, which makes it frustrating as hell trying to learn the game. It's different in duo/squad because you get knocked down and your teammates can rescue you, and even if you die, you can still help your party out with scouting. Also helps that I'm playing with someone that knows what the fuck they're doing.

Just got my first solo win. Hands were tingly like pop rocks.
