A combination of pricy development, poor reception, and selling barely enough to break even.
During an interview surrounding 13 Sentinels, they stated the Wii version was a mistake in their eyes which was why they refused to move the DLC to it. Meanwhile the Vita version sold more, cost less, and was regularly praised / supported by the fanbase.
It's a huge reason as to why 13 Sentinels was announced as a Vita game + PS4 port and why they always do Vita versions of their titles when they moved to PS4.

Idort here. Fuck boring grindy monster hunter games. Tried one on 3ds and it was complete shit. The "copycats" I've played were much better games. Toukiden was an okay 6/10 game and Soul Sacrifice was amazing 9/10. I'd much rather a console tier Soul Sacrifice follow up than Monster Hunter on my ps4.

I won't buy MH for Switch or ps4.
