Persona 5 was teased five years ago and has been expected since 2008 when Persona 4 came out. There have been constant trailers, several E3s, and a very well-received Japanese release since it finally came out in the USA. It's also on the most popular console on the market and boasts a very impressive artstyle, also being well-received by critics.

SMT IV:Apocalypse, by comparison,is a 3DS title released when the system is on its home stretch, using assets from a previous release in the series, and is in a much-less popular system.

Of fucking course people are still talking about Persona 5, it's the second biggest release of the year for gaming press besides Breath of the Wild.

I wish characters actually responded in a meaningful way to the player's answers in the alignment questions. Like that part in IV:A where Skins is asking whether he can trust you after everyone finds out you're under Dagda's control. I don't know what it says in the English version but in the original text you can respond by literally telling him in front of everyone to eat shit and he just laughs it off and the plot moves on like normal.

No Vit means Demons only have 3 HP/MP spreads and they're entirely based on level, along with no defensive stats which accentuates the press turn systems problems of you being able to sweep most battles in the first turn. Having a defensive stat somewhat mitigates that.

Phys skills costing MP means that Physical Demons will quickly run out of attack power and be sidelined for Magic demons, who can likely hit more weaknesses, and for longer.

The difficulty is inherently fucked because you can save anywhere and killing a demon once will revel all of their weaknesses to you. So encountering new demons is basically a coin flip to see if you fuck up and hit a reflect/drain and they one shot half your party.

As shitty as it is the beginning of the game just taught me to save after every fight and restart it if you end up in an unrecoverable position rather than waiting to go through the agonizingly long game over screen.

If it makes you feel better, getting to Tokyo means that you've already beaten the hardest bosses. Minotaur and Medusa are much harder than virtually everything you fight because you'll be able to nuke everything in 1-3 turns. King Kenji is the only fight I remember after entering Tokyo that didn't end in a few turns and gave me some trouble. Do not try to pick up the remote when you fight Kenji.
