Actually, I don't make nearly that much.
We clear that much on the Patreon, sure, but;
- The monthly amount is split 3 ways between Triangulate, Frouge, and I. This takes me down to about $3,300, roughly, a month.
- Then, we collectively spend anything we don't use on rent/utilities/food on people making external assets for us that we don't need continually, such as music, voice acting, sound effects, and so on. Music goes at about $100 a minute of music, voice acting is $1-4 a line, and sound effects are $5-15 a sound effect.

I also have two other Patreons, and the same deal goes on there. The actual amount of money that I personally keep after putting money back into the game and paying rent/utilities/food is probably about $300-400 a month.

Internal Interrogation is set to come out late summer 2017, Future Fragments spring/summer 2018, and Reclaim Reality early 2019 if all goes well. Thought I was ready to start UV unwrapping/mapping, than realized I hadn't deleted all the hidden parts of objects I pieced together. Like this shoulder is a full sphere so it unwraps a bunch of extra shit.

Now I get to go through and delete shit tons of vertices. THAN I can unwrap and start texturing.

It's the worst because these days a lot of people are intentionally dragging out development so they don't have to worry about a paycheck. If you have a really good story, you can write decently, and you're good at making design documents and communicating what game you're going for, and you work well with others, as well as being up for compromises on some stuff as you're still working with other people, you can make games.

I was in entertainment for a good while before I got into making hentai stuff, so I kind of learned the ropes about self-promotion there, but the tl;dr is just promote everywhere, as long as the place allows NSFW content to some degree, and sometimes there's interesting avenues possible if you really keep your eyes open.

One funny example of this was a large RPG board; the board normally had no sub-boards for hentai or adult content, and generally didn't allow NSFW topics.
They had an odd rule though where you're able to compete in Unreal Tournament 99', you and a few others vs a few others, and if your team won, you got to get one thing on the forum, whether that was banning someone, or getting a special badge, or unbanning someone, or whatever else.
So, I asked if I could get the rights to post topics about my games on the forum.
We won, so I got rights to do that, and the reactions on a board that normally didn't really talk about hentai were pretty priceless, but people quickly started actually responding with curiosity/interest in it, and now it doesn't really make anyone turn heads, but it's that kind of stuff, collectively adding up, that can help with promotion; never ignore a possible avenue.

That said, also always be incredibly honest about your game; have pride in it, but don't bullshit about it. The minute you lie outright about your game people will be able to call you on it, and your credibility is ruined, which will then attach itself to your games. Only advertise your game with honesty about what it has, what you're intending to put in it, and what your goal is with it, even if that may turn off some people.

Also, make a Tumblr, because Tumblr is huge for hentai games, and link up with other h-game devs for mutual promotion of each other's games.
People will get mad at you for promoting everywhere, but if you realize that not everyone is going to like it, you shouldn't really have shame about it.
