The people who take part in it think the other side is more serious than they are, but if you were to ask either side if they're serious, they'd say "No, I'm being ironic, but the <platform they're arguing against>fags are real idiots." He made sure sony went after sega so that whatever price the saturn announced (399), they could go lower. And the first words of the entire press conference were given by him, which was "299" and walked away.

After that, he designed the crash ads with crash calling out mario.

I've been on /v/ since 2009, it was not like this until /vg/ was created.

Within a year of /vg/'s creation, nearly all passionate discussion of video games migrated to that board and /v/ became a battleground for 'interests' or 'sides' or whatever.

PC isn't a single platform. I can't pop in my original disc of The Sims on my new PC because it doesn't work that way. Just like I can't play a GameCube game on my Wii U.

So when the argument is "there are 20 years of exclusives" I cringe. I can probably get digital downloads, or emulators, but why bother? The majority of PC players play LoL or WoW, which run on toasters. Indie games were also a main draw, but I can get most of the good ones on a Vita. And I'm pretty sure Counterstrike and Overwatch are the two most popular fps games on PC. And possibly TF2. Let that sink in.

There's no real need for a top end PC when the dev support isn't there (sup Batman). There isn't that 1 game that makes you go "holy shit I need this ASAP" on pretty much any platform.

So what you're left with is making a choice within budget/peer interest. And PC is modular. It has been since its inception.

If you buy a plain, mediocre slice of pizza, then go home and add your own pepperonis and pineapples on it, and you love it, then the pizza isn't inherently good. You modified it to your tastes.

That's the power of PC. You can tailor it to what you want. Most people don't give a shit and don't want to deal with the hassle of mods, updates, waiting for cracks, etc. And I get that. But to call it the "best" platform is completely dependent upon why you play games.

PS4 is a solid platform. Wii U although dead has a handful of worthwhile games. Games are for playing, not bickering.

Last time I checked the steam statistics more than 50% of the playerbase had weaker hardware than basic PS4. Honestly PC gamer is a small minority of the PC market, yet the statistics always include people playing Farmville and Assassin's Creed 2 in 2012 on intel chips.
