No, the rolling system is removed. There's a much bigger focus on balancing in this game to turn into something for competitive play, like e-sport material. By playing single player campaign you can now unlock "tags" for your clothing. Let's say you unlock a "running speed tag", which gives you the ability to give an article of clothing the ability to increase running speed. The tags have unlimited uses, but each article of clothing can only have 1 upgrade of 1 ability. This means you can't have an article of clothiong with 3 times the ability to increase running speed.

I've only played up to the first boss. It's made clear that it's set two years after the last game. Cap'n Cuttlefish has dissappeared and you are out to find him and some mysterious creature gives you the order to find him. There are co-op missions where you play alongside an AI, which is either agent 1 or 2 (I think randomly chosen).

The first boss was some kind of electric eel following you and giving electric charge to platforms youre walking on. You are given a walking speed boost before the battle, so you're able to run to non charged platforms. After the fight you unlock the running speed tagger mentioned >>366362196

No, the old modes are all the same. However, to pander to the e-sport audience or somethigng, you can now compose a team at the start of match. You'll see the other players and their gear before starting. You still have time to talk to your team (using the voice chat app I guess) and change out any gear and weapons before the game starts. This means team setup will be of importance now.

I've never played with the app, so I can't say something aboput the app itself. From what I understand it connects to your Switch and knows whenever youre playing online, so you'll be able to team chat, but I'm not sure about that.

In the game itself you're still able to add friends, make squads and go into a game with them. However there will be no voice chat, unless you use the app.
