It's fine as long as you're making something very simple so it's easy to get good performance. If it has anything intensive in it then it's a bad way to make a game and people playing it will notice.

It's kind of pointless now, isn't it? The major reason to use it in the first place was cross-platform compatibility, and now there are alternatives that are better suited to making games.
