I tried doing a buster only run with the Zero games before but it's not very satisfying. The buster is weak, the charged shot is small and most of the EX-skills tied to it are shit. You know, Axl's kinda pointless. I mean, they did try to make him useful by giving him rapidfire and the ability to shoot in eight directions, but at no point is that ever actually necessary. Hovering is also less useful than the double-jump/high jump and stealth dash. The only real point to his character is to use his Axl Trans to transform into certain mooks in order to obtain certain hidden items, but once you get them, he's effectively become the most worthless character in the game. X's sheer damage output is just too high and Zero's flexible attacks are easier to use than manual aiming.
