I at least expected the Nohr story to be something similar to the scenes from older FE games where you get good-natured enemy commanders working under evil rulers and struggling to make peace with the war crimes they are committing. If there is gonna be another MU, just don't make him Corrin. For me, Fate's story suffered mostly because it was focused on such a weak piece of shit character. If they're gonna make another story centered on the MU, give the player more choices, because the MU is supposed to represent the player, and I know a majority of players aren't gullible crybabies like Corrin. If not, just shove the MU to the side as a sidekick or some shit.
Also if children can't be implemented without pulling something out of your ass, leave them out and add more adult units to compensate.

I didn't find this to be particularly true. Fates females were a mixed bag just like the Awakening ones. People say otherwise but that seems to be nostalgia to me. For instance Lucina and Azura are easily comparable and neither are booming with personality. Likewise, you get some characters that are either rehashes or hybrids, like how Sophie is just Cherche 2.0 or how Camilla is a mix of Tharja + Cherche with a tint of Aversa.

Oboro was one of the ones handled better.

Character bio has her hate Nohrians, its her personal skill, and she has that scowl, but unexpectedly it doesn't take over all that much of her dialogue - in fact its more of a joke that she accidentally makes the scowl and apologizes for it.
Then there is the implied crush on Takumi, but her dialogue basically drops it once she is recruited, and its just a death line in the Conquest route.

Main issue is the same as the one with Awakening; that there are a lot more supports to dig through, but it feels like most characters were only written with a handful in mind.

Imagine if we took the characters from FE7 and gave them 3x as many supports, but the new ones were more hastily written. And I think people would be a lot less fond of, say, Sain and Kent if they had more supports of Sain just being a womanizer/Kent being overly serious.

Basically, you have to know the right supports to look at for Fates characters since you have to dig through more crap.
