I can't believe that they left the party bug that makes playing with your friends a total nightmare for over 2 months. If you're in a group when a boss fight starts everyone that isn't party leader is stuck in place unable to move or use skills, but if only happens if you're on the same screen. To play around the bug your whole party had to run a screen away before anyone accepted/finished any quest or picked up any quest item for the first time because there are so many stupid and pointless boss battles.

And even now, over a year later, hunters are fucking retarded and broken. Your pet still randomly freezes until you relog into the game. Pet skils still freeze your pet in the animation for 14 seconds even if the monster it's grabbing dies immediately.

I miss the people from /tosg/.

It's just the way MMOs work nowadays. It had to appeal to the korean and chinese markets which are so drastically different from the western market in design philosophy and playerbase demand that it's almost not worth releasing games in the west.

Especially considering the western hemisphere makes up less than 10% of most major MMO publisher's income. for nexon, NA and EU add up to about 8%, japan, which is like 90% mobile, makes up around 20.

ToS had ALOT of potential, but the devs ruined it with sheer stupidity. The controls were ass backwards, the "trading" system was retarded, the "crafting" system was retarded, and the game was plagued with bugs.

The biggest flaw for me were the items. Most drops were very generic, and I had no motivation to kill monsters other than for grinding XP and "KILL X MONSTERS" quests. Armor didn't change the way your character looked either. It just felt bland.

My new hopes are Lost Ark (when it EVENTUALLY comes to the west) and Dauntless. I fear they may fuck Dauntless up, but if it turns out good we'll have a nice English Monster Hunter Online clone.

im still on the TOS discord, what a sad course the game took, the devs are a bunch of clueless idiots, the whole netcode is fundamentally broken that they will never ever fix the performance issues, besides that the game is just empty and stupid linear maps
