It's dungeon crawling but they don't have points for battle actions. Instead they have stamina which determines how many times they can fight in a dungeon before you have to bench them, which prevents you from steamrolling with the best characters while also giving the weaker characters a time to shine.

The characters also have more than 1 skill and are also associated with elements which makes them strong and weak to certain enemies.

There are also less characters which paves the way for more character development.

Not really true. I've had subtitles of my native language show up broken in MPC-HC for example. Also some bad programs take locale as their default language. Also had cases where those redistributables that come with programs installed in Japanese.

Basically don't install other shit while not in your usual locale.

The original release was over 500 MB. The reason localized one is so much smaller is thanks to SLC magic.
Vi isn't smaller because it's running at 2X original resolution, and has bunch of other additions.

It really depends what you look for in a game. Sengoku Rance is very solid strategy game, while Rance VI is very solid RPG.
The game isn't nearly as free-form due to you being on a set path rather than being able to attack anyone you want, but the dungeon designs and story in VI are absolutely fantastic. The characters are also great.
