I play Bloodcraft mostly and I'm not too impressed with its legendary. Might just continue buying DE for Bloody Mary and spend vials to craft the good cards of lesser rarities.

I should probably figure out at least one type of deck in another class I'd like to dip into, though.

All Shadowverse RNG directly deals with what's on the field or what's in one's deck. It's all controllable and at the mercy of the players.

Hearthstone RNG, however, in addition to cards like the one's you've posted for SV, includes cards that will literally pull more cards that neither player actually owns out from the aether in a variety of ways, be it based on cost or class. And then there's Yogg'Saron himself, who will play a number of entirely random spell sequentially on random targets. Incredible.

If I had to increase a haven card's cost it might be Hallowed Dogma.

Making it 4 cost for instance would prevent a turn 3 Aria summoning combo and hurts your ability to speed up Seraph.

Take out Fencer and White Paladin, extra Commanders will clog your Maid's searches. Some banner decks use Avent Blader and some don't, it can save your ass by searching two Storms and it can also screw you over by getting searched by Maid instead of Banner.

Take out Fervid Soldiers, add in another Oathless Knight and another Aesthetic Knight, you're strategy is to flood your board with weenies.

Add another Maid.

Take out Gardeners and Lancers, add in Centaur Vanguards, Storm followers are your friends and your win condition.

Put in 2-3 Alwida's Command, it's a great card that gives you split bodies that'll get boosted by Banner and can help you push for game.

As someone who went from aggro/bat blood to control blood, I don't think it's much of a meme. I think aggro is much easier and plays better against certain meta decks (PTP, Seraph, Dshift), but Control performs plenty fine if you have your thinking hat on and are a good gambler. I really like the eustress put on me through the deck's decision making, it's the most fun I've had in the game.

I also think it's an archetype with a lot of flexibility in how you build it, which is also always fun. I don't even have Bloody Mary yet.

Shadow's cards are sick as hell. As a Bloodcraft main, I'm jealous. A lot of the cards you call "RNG shit" can easily be manipulated into getting an exact result by making the right plays. The ones that can't, like the legendary, can be manipulated via deckbuilding. Thinking about building a Shadow deck as my secondary with the way RoB is going. I stopped playing Shadowverse.

Everytime I won it seemed I got the perfect hand and everytime I lost it seemed like the opponent got a perfect hand, there was never a balanced match.

Also mostly I seemed to never have a choice in what to do, because of the amount of mana I had and the cards I had in hand, also because every game ended before turn 8.

Maybe I'll try some more when the expansion hits, maybe not.

Got to rank B if I remember correctly, after that every deck was meta.

I'm still making some tweaks to this after slowing down climbing ranked.

Currently considering swapping Genesis Dragon with another Siegfried and finding a more aggressive option than Imprisoned Dragons since they slow me down against Haven.

Also not really sure how I feel about Unica. Her slot used to be Dingdongs, but even with the cycling it felt like they didn't do much.

SV's biggest weakness is that it's a clone of Hearthstone. In some ways it's even more simple than HS due to being constrained by mobile design (games should end by turn 8) which locks out complicated playstyles.

Maybe this will change in the future, but things aren't looking bright. If you want something more than HS but without RNG, SV isn't the substance you're looking for.

Yugioh's got extremely low variance so I'll give you that, but Magic's really the same thing disguised better. Despite the mechanics resembling Hearthstone, Shadowverse's play as you climb resembles Magic a lot more, albeit without instants. You're always fishing for the perfect hand in both games, you hit the skill floor and learn your match ups, then do your best to mull right and leave most of the game to luck.

If you're bothered by the "curve out" decks though, you might be happy to know that it's largely just a symptom of new players playing against new players. Learning to hold cards is one of those skills people don't pick up until a lot later since you can reach A rank on a 30% win rate and won't get punished for shitting until after that. Magic's the more in-depth and better game, but Shadowverse is in a great spot for not being half a year old yet.

I dont really think this is a fair comparison, in terms of substance. HS has been out for far longer and printed far more cards than SV, this obviously also applies to MTG and YGO.

SV is still in its infancy in terms of card pool, the devs are still playing around with the basic mechanics. We're yet to get to the point where the game has matured enough for more "substance" to be added.

I'll admit that this isnt exaclty relevant, since people want to play whats good right now, not play what might be better in a couple years, but still. Its important to remember you're comparing a relatively fresh game with games that (in some cases) have had decades to flesh out their mechanics and really build things up.

You're heavily exaggerating the skill in 'optimizing damage' with aggro blood. At its core, aggro decks are just playing cards on curve and slamming face and that's what aggro blood does best. The only thing it ever watches for is angelic barrage, but that's the same in all aggro tempo decks.

Bloodcraft's hovered in and out between tier 1 and tier 2, it's settled on the top end of the latter but saw major tournament representation for most of the expansion meta.
