I helped a friend play through it fairly recently. Looking at it again, it's surprising how boring it is in the early few episodes. It really takes some time for it to become a full-fledged mystery story.

You're probably going to get the most enjoyment out of it by either quite liking the characters and getting intruigued at the hints of story, or just enjoying the exploration and the statistics at the end of what choices you discovered and how many others made your choices.
