Carnifex is the hardest 1v1 fight in the game.

Also remember the first tip: Don't let them get to you. Bear traps, throwing nets, whatever works for you.

Or you could just craft better armor. It's not too hard to get metal armor threshold so high most hobos simply can't penetrate it with their dinky little knives.

yes

it doesn't need to be that high, but at 0 throwing, you'll find that your grenades will ping off at right angles and shit, which is really annoying (i usually get it to around 30 or 40 then stop)

mercantile's only real use is to get more money, persuasion is actually used in dialogue to open up new quests/solve quests in different ways

There's something I'm not getting. After I finished Core City (went with JKK), I decided to fuck up some Praetorians to get their oddity and the Sword Handle in the their HQ. I snuck in, no one saw me, I killed some guys with a silenced SMG and combat ended right after they died without them acting, meaning there were no witnesses, correct? So why are all the Praetorians hostile on sight to me? How do they even know?

Amplified plasma pistol, build for crit. Acid pistol is great you just wont want it until after depot A. Incendiary is great too because setting people on fire is excellent. Cryo a shit. Anyone you cant one shot with plasma should be melted or set on fire.

You better be using that science to build lots of great grenades. Three pointer is unreal on that build.

Holy fuck, I just cleared Depot A myself and this game is great. I came into one of these threads about a week ago and decided to try it, and got a ton of help with an Assault Rifle build and I fucking love it, so thanks a ton if you helped me out or recommended me the game especially whoever told me to stock up on EMP grenades

I do have a question, though. I was planning to do a full heavy-armour build, but I found a great tactical vest overcoat that's 20%/18 and +200% threshold vs bullets; where all the metal armour I can find only had a threshold of /14 or so and no bonus.
Have I just found a really fucking good vest? Or have I not found any actually good metal armour yet? Either way, I'm alright to stick with this for now, right?
Also, the slang/language in this game is great. I'm just getting my first taste of lore and it's addictively intriguing

Yeah, those heavy anti-rifle vests are better against bullets than metal armor and DT 14 metal armor kinda sucks.

But the thing about metal armors is resistance, not threshold. They also have good protection against melee, crossbows and energy weapons unlike tac-vests.

JKK has the easiest version of the warehouse quest and you could a pretty good cloaking generator from there. They're my favorite lorewise too, the other guys are assholes.

Ah, okay, thanks for the help. I think I'll stick with the vest for now, just until I find a really good metal armour or can craft one. I only really have trouble with crossbow assholes because they can use Aimed Shot. I had a bit of a look at the wiki and I think I understand the resistance/reduction mechanics a bit better now.

Is there any point to hurrying to pick up an Energy Shield on this build? Who should I use it against, snipers and the like? What frequency is best for a heavy-armour user?

Also, since I took some stealth on this build I did the quests from Abram in Junkyard
That's a good thing and I didn't fuck anything up too badly, r-right?

There's literally no reason not to. It doesn't change anything with the Protectorate. Kinda dumb desu, there should be some kind of consequence.
Follow up on the Abrams questline ASAP when you get to Core City. It's great.

Oh, good, I'm glad I didn't do something to fuck up my relations with them. I'm just now deciding where to go first - Core City, Rail Crossing or Camp Hathor - or to go back and finish working for the Eels in Junkyard; I explored the underpassages around SGS a bit but ran into some tough enemies and then went back and cleared the Burrower cave at GMS. Fuck those things.

O-okay, anon.
To be honest they weren't that bad this time, I could usually burst down an adult Burrower in a couple of turns. Being immune to all non-critical spawn damage was a big help, it was just annoying since because of the layout, every now and then I'd get totally surrounded by spawn, and when that happened the adult burrowers were smart enough to hit me with poison and then hide out of sight since I couldn't move. After a couple of turns of that I ended up with full stacks of the poison and like 35 damage a turn. At least the expediment of molotov cocktails works, especially since I had another jacket that made me immune to burning so I could just drop one at my own feet.

It was straight bullshit the first time I tried it though, I can understand why Gorsky wanted to seal that shit up.

Weapons dealers sometimes want them, what they want to buy is (within their accepted categories) randomised whenever you speak to them after the shop refreshes.
So don't scrap good crossbows because when repaired they can be worth a fuckton.

There are couple of good shops for them, but both are hidden in one way or another. Deacon and Constantine.

Is this a good option? I've been doing it the other way around instead, by using most of my repair kits to repair items and then selling them.
If the situation a the Junkyard turns out the way I think it will, I think I'm going to need a few more after that.
