I'd rather have a MMO that is consistent instead of changing everything each expac. neo-WoW is a mess that does not look at all like the game I fell in love with back in 2004 and why I have no interest in it. I'd prefer the expacs to expand on the game instead of trying to reinvent it each time, and most likely failing at it. My problem is that I've been playing these sorts of MMOs for too long. Ever since the original Everquest, to DAOC, to WoW -- the same generic shit. XIV doesn't expand on any of these ideas... in fact it takes steps BACK in a lot of cases... and I guess that's why it doesn't appeal to me.

Clearly they don't want to take risks with the game after 1.0, and probably never will. It's unfortunate.

I will say that I did like some aspects of the story and setting, and that was the driving force behind my few months of playing, but once I completed the majority of the story content I didn't have much else to do.

Is there any point in doing the level 60 and expert roulettes if all I want is Lore? Running ARF seems to be your best bet. Theoretically you could get it with the level 60 roulette, but it'll suck if you don't. I guess the only argument I can make for it now is just to have a change of pace from running ARF.

So generally speaking, MSQ are for gaining levels quickly, and side quests are for some dosh and freebie items? I'm trying to rush back to lv 20 so I can play with some buddies

Healing is probably the most unfun shit ever the reason tanks never use CDs is because of the retard healers that spam heals nonstop instead of actually damaging shit.

As a SCH I have to make sure my leveling gear is top notch and with some melds so my adlo can hold the shit tank between pulls. Honestly 50% of the time if the tank cannot survive a pull before I get my shadow flare,dots and bane up I leave. Fuck it its going to be a bad run. During leveling as a WAR my first class I made sure to gear and learn how to play properly so I don't stress the healers and what do they do during the downtime? Nothing.

That stupid WHM idle animation is burned in my brain and I get irate seeing that shit because it reminds me of the shit healers that don't know what to do when a tank uses CDs.

I got to 60 to late and my server is not a le epik raiding server so unless I beg my FC which I'm a nobody in to try to fit me in or pray that RF learning/PF have some people I can't do the content.

So fuck off with the raid shit until datacenter PF is out. I really hate when people say raiding is anything but a timesink for players that played and geared up before the patch a raid is coming out on. i dont play ast, but on WHM i almost never need my cooldowns. occasionally have to if the tank is doing massive massive pulls in whatever the newest dungeon is. for harder content you just have to get the hang of the rhythm of each fight specifically and know which places you need big heals

Its a bad idea to make Flash become Unleash. I'd rather Flash have a trait where it applied a DoT or a stacking DoT to further emphasize its use of DoT with Scorn and Goring Blade.

You're not going to find 7 people who want to do coil synced. But doing First coil with 3 people, Second with 4 and Final with 5 is pretty fun. You still see most of the mechanics that way.

Because it's actually a stupid amount of mitigation for it to have. Pretty much every raidwide aoe (and lots of the relevant tankbusters) in 3.x have been magical so you always benefit from having Delirium, and Reprisal is an additional 10% damage down on top of that which also stacks with WAR's Path (or DV if you have a PLD for some reason). PLD gets Halone (useless) and DV (a powerful shield), WAR gets Path (close to 100% uptime) and Deployed Adloqs that are slightly stronger than from PLD, DRK gets Delirium (close to 100% uptime) and Reprisal (up for most relevant mechanics). PLD/DRK would be less unbalanced if Reprisal was replaced with a skill more like Divine Veil but slightly weaker.

PLD has problems, sure, but don't gut theo ther tanks just to make PLDs feel better about theirs.

FFXIV is good if you don't care about there only being challenging, fun content for 2 months of the year. They release two raids a year. That's it. Outside of that you get shitty boring dungeons, two 24 man raids that you could complete with your eyes closed, and housing/crafting crap no one cares about.
