I think the point is people are used to configuring things for PC games, it's been that way since DOS. meanwhile consoles have gone backwards, they tried to become PC's but ended up having the worst aspects of both PC's and consoles. Back in the PSX era there was no installation, no updates, it was just plug and play.

Nowadays consoles have all the drawbacks that PCs had in the late 90s/early 2000s with none of the benefits.

I had a black out the other day, when electricity came back the computer booted back up, the ps4 had to do a scandisk upon reboot.

Installations are another downside, whereas an installation on pc can be relatively short due to SSDs and fast CPUs, on the slow as shit consoles CPUs and HDD it takes AGES.

I own a PS4 almost purely for fighting games. I would say that SFV being PC as well would lessen that, but PC version for me has some pretty noticeable rollback. PS4 version is basically perfect when it comes to online, unless the other guy is trying to play on wi-fi or has their entire house using netflix.

I think consoles are literally just shitty PC's to be honest, but I really want to play some of the exclusives PS4 has so I put up with the ass loading times, slow download speeds and graphical downgrades.

Oh, one more thing I hate, Sony will take all your money if they can get it. Even something like a background can often cost money, or at least require pre-ordering a game.

I have like 50 games installed on my 2TB PS4 and still have 800gb of space left even with stuff like uncharted collection, tlou, arkham whatever, witcher 3, destiny, gta v and other AAA shits taking up a ton of space. If that's all you play then yeah you're gonna fill up a hard drive pretty quickly. There are a ton of good games that are less than 15gb or even less than 5gb. However plenty of games restrict what you can do when you do this. For example Mortal Kombat you can play versus on one map while characters slowly download it. 343i has had broken releases, lack of content at launch, Micro-tranactions, lack of community support, poor QA testing, lying, and many more things. I dont recall Bungie doing any of these. I mean just a few months ago Bungie released a patch to fix Halo PC servers, yet 343i took down the Halo 2 Vista servers and has shown no interest in fixing MCC or Warzone Firefight.

It doesn't matter if it was intentional, they never fixed their mistakes and fucked over customers without warning. Yeah you can keep trying to excuse their mistakes all you want but from the outside you get a pretty strong signal that 343i doesn't give a shit about us. Thats really all that matters. People arent leaving the franchise and shitting on them for no reason, they give us plenty.

Segac cd and cdi introduced loading to consoles due to the disc format. Cell phones have driver updates and more glitches and shit due to being little mini computers, vs the simplicity of a landline phone. While true, let's put this forth - language audio files shouldn't be treated as a main component. Rather, they should be treated like optional DLC. That way you only download the language you need, not all of them, in addition to your base game.

With platforms like Steam allowing easy distribution of DLC straight into your game, there's no real reason a system like this shouldn't be the most preferable.

For physical games shipping on a blu ray, it makes perfect sense to leave it uncompressed because you get dat audio quality and the game itself rarely fills up the entire disc so why the fuck not. The places where you aren't going to have that, they don't even need to bother with the download. One person cracks it, break it open, and you can distribute that on discs in markets, there are entire streets in places like Brazil dedicated to these blank discs, maybe they have some black marker on them.
