That's because killing something up close and personal is the most intimate and respected form of combat. However, games where you have to trap monsters and use your wits are pretty cool too.

There was that one FPS on the PS3 where mythological monsters come to life. I mean, it was a 6/10 and every gun felt like it shot peas, but hey. There is a level where you torch caged werewolves with a flamethrower in it.
